Acclaimed Quebec-based composer Simon Bertrand came to the Manship Artist Residency in March 2026 to create a choral score for poetry by Sara Teasdale, recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1918. Bertrand was also working on the music for the theremin which will accompany the New York Cantore Singers conducted by Mark Shapiro when his composition premieres in late 2026. Please, support the space that enables these great moments of creativity: Manship Artists Residency, Gloucester, Massachusettes.
