The US Olympic Trials are being conducted this week in Miami and Inside Great Lakes Sailing thought it might be a good idea to chat with US Sailing's High Performance Director Marcus Lynch, who was hired away from the German Olympic program. We had a chance to ask Lynch about his six-week experience atop the nation's sailing program and didn't push him too hard for answers. We did, however, quiz him about the program's future, what we might expect in 2028 when we host the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and if we can get back on track to matter in international sailing circles, We think you'll find the answers direct, honest and thoughtful. Lynch is one of the best small boat sailors and coaches in the world based on his recent results and we think USA Sailing might be in the right hands. We did avoid chatting with Lynch about the recent US Sailing's lawsuit against America One and we mentioned those disagreeable issues will be worked out in a court of law. Wally Cross joins us in the second part of the show as a weekly feature on sailing better, so stay tuned.
